GFA Coach /Manager or for the right person
We are looking for a fit, healthy, dynamic and enthusiastic coach/manager to join our small team.
You will be required to work with management to maintain & grow our Preschool, Schools and Recreational programmes. This is to be done within the club and the wider community.
Manage all areas of holiday programme.
Must be self-motivated, able to stick to KPI’s and develop progressive programmes to ensure long-term development of all GFA programmes.
Must have experience and qualifications in these area’ or be willing to attain the qualifications with in 6months.
30 hours for a GFA Coach/Manager -

Job Description:
ROLE TITLE: GFA & Holiday Programme Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: Club Manager
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Good leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Good interpersonal skills - Ability to communicate effectively with gymnasts, teachers, parents and other members of staff
- Ability to understand the learning process and training principles related to young children
- Ability to motivate and assist gymnasts of all ages to develop new skills safely and age appropriate
- Knowledge of injury prevention - understanding how to reduce the risk of injury to gymnasts
- Good time management skills and punctuality
ROLE PURPOSE:
To work with management to maintain & grow our Preschool, Schools, Recreational programmes. This is to be done within the club and the wider community.

MAIN TASKS:
- To deliver the club’s coaching sessions to the level of your coaching qualification.
- To do the necessary preparation and set up prior to the session and liaise with other coaches as needed.
- To provide positive and fun sessions.
- To liaise with Teachers, and Home Educator Management to develop programmes to suit their specific needs
- To act as a positive role model and lead by example. Demonstrate good coaching practice and provide motivation to all coaches and gymnasts.
- Ensure that you abide by the gym rules at all times. Take the necessary action if there is a breach of the rules and notify the manager at the earliest possible opportunity.
- To have a responsibility for the safeguarding and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- To notify the Management and head coach immediately of any incidents, referrals or disclosures or if this is not possible follow the Child Protection Policy guidelines.
- To act in a responsible and appropriate manner at all times in accordance with the Club and Gymsport NZ Gymnastics’ codes of conduct, ethics and best practice.
- To fulfil the duty of care towards all participants and members of the club.
- To help raise the standard of gymnastics at the club.
- To actively promote the club where possible.
- To ensure accurate registers of your sessions are kept.
- To communicate effectively with caregivers and teachers regarding your gymnasts progress.
- To support any fundraising events organised by the club, providing assistance when required.
- To assist in talent identification by highlighting any potential talent to the manager.
- To undertake all necessary and mandatory training required for the role and to ensure the club meets its Health & Safety requirements.
- To keep the club informed of any further qualifications taken, and ensure your qualifications are kept up to date with GSNZ.
- To evaluate your own performance regularly and look to gain further experience and knowledge through additional courses and workshops, which will aid the development of the gymnasts you coach.
- Assist the club by covering shifts when you are available
- To mentor and help develop all staff who work under your supervision in all GFA classes and holiday programme.
